This is the return address on a handwritten letter from Carole to
Rudy Vallee dated May 11, 1938, just days before Carole's contract with Warner
Brothers expired. Assuming her contract wouldn't be renewed, she was planning
to go East to act on stage for Lawrence Schwab. This appears to be a two-bedroom house, in the Laurel
Canyon area of the Hollywood Hills. It was Carole's only known residence in this
part of town. |
